Yes. The Trio Scout™ is manufactured in Cincinnati, Ohio, USA, and uses only NDAA-compliant components in its assembly. While it is not yet on the DIU Blue UAS Cleared List, we are actively working toward that certification.
Weather can have a significant impact on the flight time of all drones. The environmental factors most impacting flight time are temperature and altitude. The Trio Scout™ is rated for 100 minutes at standard sea-level conditions and 59°F (15°C) temperature, and a gentle breeze (8-12mph). Actual performance is capable of exceeding that rating.
High temperatures and high altitude can each negatively impact flight time by approximately 5%. At 120°F ambient and 5000' ASL altitude, the Trio Scout would be de-rated to 88 minutes of flight time.
Cold weather plus altitude is most detrimental to flight time. Cold air is denser, which by itself helps flight time, but that benefit is outweighed by the negative impact of cold battery performance. At -5°F ambient and 5000' altitude, the Trio Scout would be de-rated to 65 minutes of flight.
Windy conditions also can impact flight times, up to around 15%.
The Trio Scout™ is designed to be quiet and discrete. It is notably quieter than the leading comparable quadcopters in it's class.
Not at this time. However, the Trio Scout™ is designed with a quick-disconnect payload mount to support future expansion. We anticipate offering additional sensor and payload options as the platform evolves, including LiDAR, spotlights, and laser rangefinders, based on customer needs.
Yes. It features autonomous takeoff and landing, including downward-facing detect-and-avoid for safe landings. Full 360-degree detect-and-avoid capabilities are planned for future releases.
Yes. The ground control system runs on Windows 11 with WiFi and Bluetooth capabilities for easy wireless casting to a nearby screen, or for online broadcasting when paired with a hotspot. The drone software is MavLink-based, allowing integration with a wide range of third-party tools.
