Next-Generation Endurance Drone – Coming Soon

The Trio™ uses a revolutionary windmilling flight design to achieve hover endurance beyond 2 hours — far beyond the limits of traditional quadcopters. Purpose-built for mission-critical response, Trio™ is designed to give first responders and national security teams more time in the air, when it matters most.

Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at sales@angelaerialsystems.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Yes. The Trio™ is manufactured in Cincinnati, Ohio, USA, and uses only NDAA-compliant components in its assembly. While it is not yet on the DIU Blue UAS Cleared List, we are actively working toward that certification.

Not at this time. However, the Trio™ is designed with a quick-disconnect payload mount to support future expansion. We anticipate offering additional sensor and payload options as the platform evolves, including LiDAR, spotlights, and laser rangefinders, based on customer needs.

Yes. The Trio™ features autonomous takeoff and landing, including downward-facing detect-and-avoid for safe landings. Full 360-degree detect-and-avoid capabilities are planned for future releases.

Yes. The ground control system runs on Windows 11 with WiFi and Bluetooth capabilities for easy wireless casting to a nearby screen, or for online broadcasting when paired with a hotspot. The drone software is MavLink-based, allowing integration with a wide range of third-party tools.

No. The Trio™ uses the same dual-stick flight control layout as other leading multirotor drones, with intuitive pitch, roll, yaw, and throttle input. If you've flown modern enterprise drones, you'll find the experience familiar. In field tests, customers have comfortably piloted the Trio™ after just a brief orientation. Switching between tricopter and windmill modes is seamless and activated with a single button press.

The Trio™ can be operated by FAA Part 107 certified remote pilots under standard small UAS rules—no waiver required for typical operations.

Each of the Trio’s three wings can be quickly attached or removed, allowing the drone to fit in a compact storage case that is small enough for the trunk of a car. The wings slide into place using a dovetail-style fit and lock in with a built-in latch—no tools required. To deploy, simply attach the wings, power on the system, and wait for GPS satellite connection. The Trio™ is ready for takeoff in just a few minutes.

In tricopter mode, the Trio™ produces noise levels comparable to other quadcopters of similar size. When switched to windmill mode, noise is slightly reduced due to lower motor RPM.

The Trio™ transforms its entire airframe into a single, rotating aerodynamic structure. In windmill mode, its three large wings spin to generate additional lift—significantly improving efficiency and reducing power consumption by 3 to 6 times compared to traditional quadcopters. This innovative design allows the Trio™ to achieve extended hover time using standard components and batteries, far beyond the typical 20–40 minutes seen in most drones.
